The residents of Macarthur Accommodation System have a wonderful community life.
Each Monday night the residents attend Dance Exercises. It is a fun time with lots of laughing and singing. Dancing is the highlight of the week.
The residents have had some wonderful birthday outings including going to see the Lion King and Wicked at the Capitol Theatre and an Abba Harbour cruise. The residents have also been to restaurants and shows at the Catholic club, Wests Leagues Club and Rashays.
We have had some very exciting leisure activities recently. The residents have been to see the Lion King and Wicked at the Capitol Theatre, Dirty Dancing and Strictly Ballroom at the Lyric Theatre, Beauty and the Beast at the Riverside Theatre (Parramatta) and the King and I at the Opera House.

The residents have also had trips to the movies, Bankstown Sports Club, putt putt golf, ten-pin bowling, the Mater Dei fete, Symbio Gardens, and Manly.
We have some excellent sports people in Macarthur Accommodation System.
6 residents competed in Special O Regional Games in March 2014 at Wetherill Park. Joshua Munson won both singles and doubles in his grade, Ann Maree Murnane and Beryl Gearside won doubles in their grade as did Shaun Duncan. Claire Heine also played well.
4 Residents competed in the Special O State Championships at Rutherford, Newcastle in June 2014. In the Singles Division Claire Heine came 1st, Joshua Munson 2nd and Ann Maree Murnane and Beryl Gearside both came 5th. In the Doubles Division Joshua Munson came 1st, Claire Heine 2nd and Ann Maree Murnane and Beryl Gearside came 3rd.
In August 2014, 6 residents competed in the Regional Games at Macarthur. In the Singles Division Claire Heine came 1st, Ann Maree Murnane 2nd, Shaun Duncan 3rd and Beryl Gearside, Elizabeth McGowan and Joshua Munson came 5th. In the Doubles Division Ann Maree Murnane came 1st, Beryl Gearside 2nd and Claire Heine, Elizabeth McGowan, Joshua Munson and Shaun Duncan came 5th.
Also in bowling news, Anthony Dengate travelled to Queensland in July 2014 to compete in the National Disability Ten Pin Bowling Competition. Anthony came 3rd in the Singles Division.

Many of us are also keen rugby league supporters and have attended games throughout the year. Anthony, Beryl and Samantha are Bulldogs supporters, Colin follows the Sydney Roosters, Joshua supports the Wests Tigers, Kevin and Elizabeth follow St George, Aimee, David and Ann Maree support the Parramatta Eels and Shaun follows the Broncos.
Andrew is a Sydney Swans and AFL supporter and has attended a few games with his mother.
